Harvard
The first reference to Harvard Cocktail was in George J. Kappeler’s 1895 Modern American Drinks, presenting equal parts of Italian vermouth and cognac, sugar syrup and Angostura Bitters.
However, you connect this cocktail to a Manhattan or a Rob Roy, replacing the whisky for cognac and a splash of fizzy water.
