The story of Courvoisier starts back in 1835 when Emmanuel Courvoisier and Louis Gallois established a wine and spirit company in Paris, in the French suburb of Bercy.

However, was only in 1828 that Felix Courvoisier and Jules Gallois, the sons of Emmanuel and Louis, who wanted to improve the quality of cognac, moved the company to the heart of the Cognac region in the town of Jarnac.

From the six legally recognized crus in Cognac region where the grapes may be grown, Courvoisier mainly works with the four finest crus: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois.

Courvoisier VS Cognac is a blend of several crus aged between three and seven years, composed principally of grapes grown in the chalky soil of Fins Bois with a balancing hand of Petite Champagne.
