In 1789, Elijah Craig who was a Baptist preacher but also a gifted distiller became the first to age his whiskey in new charred oak barrels.

 

Some claim that an accidental fire-charred his barrels and changed the whiskey inside. Elijah Craig is still known to all as the Father of Bourbon.

 

Small Batch Bourbon is aged in Level 3 charred oak barrels hand-selected by the Master Distillers.
