George A. Dickel was an established Nashville merchant when he entered the whisky business in 1870.
At the distillery, every whisky is chilled before undergoing the charcoal-mellow filtration known as the Lincoln County Process, an extra step that smooths out the flavour.
Unlike Jack Daniel’s where the whiskey trickles down through a bed of charcoal, at Dickel’s they close off the bottom of the vat until its full of whiskey and then allow it to run slowly.
George Dickel Bottled in Bond is made of 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% malted barley.
