Alaska

Alaska Cocktail is merely a Dry Martini with Chartreuse instead of vermouth.

The cocktail can be found in several vintage books such as Jacques Straub’s 1914 Drinks Manual, and also in Jacob A. Grohusko’s 1916 Jacks Manual. In the recipe, both bartenders call for Old Tom Gin, Yellow Chartreuse and 1 dash of orange bitters.

However, orange bitters have been left out in Harry Craddock’s 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book.
