Arran Distillers was founded in 1995 in the Isle of Arran.

Production began at the first distillery in Lochranza, next to Loch na Davie a special source of freshwater for Arran single-malt distilling.

The second distillery opened in the south of the island in 2019 at Lagg, to make a very unique style of peated single malt.

Arran whiskey is produced of malted barley mixed with water from Loch na Davie in the mash tun to make wort. This goes into wooden washbacks, where yeast is added to begin fermentation.

Then, the liquid is double-distilled in copper pot stills and matured in oak casks which have held wines and spirits like sherry and bourbon.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Citrus fruits

Taste: Soft and sweet texture, rich vanilla sweetness, cinnamon, spicy edge, and sweet oak.
