In 1892, William Grant builds The Balvenie distillery in the abandoned Balvenie New House and a years after, the whisky production begins.

 

The distillery is proud of growing its own barley and operating a malting floor during production.

 

DoubleWood 12 was launched in 1993 and is a single malt whisky that gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types.

 

Spent at least 12 years in American ex-bourbon barrels and moves to Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months.

 

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden

Aroma: Sweet fruit and Oloroso sherry notes, layered with honey and vanilla.

Taste: Smooth and mellow with well-rounded flavours, nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness and a delicately proportioned layer of sherry.
