Cálem Port
Cálem Port was established in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, and today is one of the top-selling Port wines in Portugal.
Cálem is made from grapes grown in the Douro and aged in Vila Nova de Gaia, for over four generations.
The label shows a caravel being loaded with barrels of Port wine, referring to the well-defined business relationship with Brazil.
Vintage Ports
Full-bodied and fruity Ports are aged for a relatively short time, between two to three years, in large oak vats. General higher quality wines are aged for slightly longer between four and six years.
Vintage 2018

Vintages 2018 stand out for their freshness, elegance and excellent balance between sweetness and acidity.
According to the official source, 2018 was a particularly challenging year marked by adverse climatic conditions that resulted in less production, but that rewarded for its excellent quality.
Vintage 2018 is capable of maturing in bottle.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Intense purple
Aroma: Very ripe black fruit, with hints of spice and cocoa
Taste: Vigorous and intense with very firm tannin, full and voluminous, and an assertive acidity

LBV 2015
Country: Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal
Raw material: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Sousão
Alcohol: 20%
According to the official source, the winery in 2015 was excellent in terms of health for the grape, however, because it was a dry year. Overall, the wines have a good concentration of colour, tannin and a well-marked acidity.
Porto Cálem LBV ages in oak casks and stainless steel vats for four to six years.

Taste: Well-rounded flavours, notes of dark chocolate and liquorice, and balanced tannins

Rich & Mellow Ports
Rich and mellow tawny Ports are aged for longer periods in small oak casks. The relatively small volume of wine compared to the surface area of the vessel increases the contact with the wood.

Cálem Fine Tawny is made of a grapes variety grown in vineyards of Douro Valley.
Produced under the traditional vinification method, Cálem Fine Tawny is blended with matured wine, which rests in oak casks for a minimum of three years, for a rich aromatic and balanced sweetness.

Cálem Lágrima is an aromatic, sweet and velvet Port White made of traditional Portuguese grapes.
Produced under the traditional vinification method, Cálem Lágrima is blended with matured wine, which rests in stainless steel for a minimum of three years.

Rose Ports
Rosé is the latest category of Port wine. It is made with the traditional method, but with limited exposure to the grape skins, thus creating the rose colour. Aged for a relatively short time, between two to three years.

Cálem Rosé is produced under the traditional method where grapes are harvested by hand at their optimum point, passing for a light maceration, which extracts fresh fruity flavours and subtle pink colour, and complemented by the pressing of the grapes before fermentation.
This advance slowly at a controlled temperature, and like other Port wines, the fermentation is interrupted by the addition of brandy, giving rise to fortified wine.
Cálem Rosé is a blend of these matured wine, which rests in stainless steel for a minimum of three years, for a rich aromatic and balanced sweetness.
