Hiram Walker, a successful grain merchant, founded what would become Canadian Club in 1858.
Due it’s popularity began to affect the sale of American Bourbon in the United States, the U.S. Government required all Canadian distillers to put the country of origin on their label.
Canadian Club process includes rye, malted rye, malted barley, and corn. The Master Blender creates a pre-barrel blending process according to the original recipe of the whiskey to marry the flavours. Then, goes to a unique barrel ageing of American white-oak for character and complexity.
In this case, Canadian Club 1858 Original is aged for at least the 3 years required by law.
