Corn and Oil

Corn and Oil is a popular cocktail in the Caribbean, particularly in Barbados and Jamaica.

It seems to be a cocktail lost in time and the funny thing is, has no corn neither oil.

Most recipes suggest a stirred drink, but shaking allows air to get into the cocktail and helps incorporate the ingredients and brighten the citrus.

No one knows who named it or created the cocktail but following the earliest references of the Falernum liquor, take us back to the 18th century as it was made as a punch in Barbados.

Corn and Oil represent the match of very popular ingredients in the islands.
