Embassy Cocktail

The Embassy Cocktail was created in the 1930s and it takes the name from where everything happened, The Embassy Club in Hollywood, California.

Adolph “Eddie” Brandstatter owned a number of Hollywood hotspots. An example is Café Montmartre which was a restaurant and nightclub in 1923 on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles. It became a worldwide center for celebrities and nightlife during the 1920s.

When the stars complained about the fans bothering them, Eddie had the idea to knock a passageway from his place into a newly constructed building next door and this new space became the exclusive The Embassy Club, a speakeasy-style members-only.
