French Connection

The French Connection cocktail is named for the Gene Hackman film of the same name.

The film is a 1971 American action-thriller based on Robin Moore’s 1969 non-fiction book The French Connection, which tells the story of a pair of New York City cops in the Narcotics Department in pursuit of a wealthy drug-smuggling with a French connection.

Despite the film won the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing, and Best Adapted Screenplay… no one drinks it in the film, it is just said that to be named after the film.

The French Connection cocktail is recognized as a “Contemporary Classic Cocktail” by the International Bartenders Association.
