Golden Dawn

The Golden Dawn cocktail was created in September 1930 by Tom Buttery at the Berkeley Hotel in London, England.

The drink was invented for an annual cocktail contest at the Geneva Club, winning the first prize.

This cocktail appears in Tom & Jerry’s 1934 Bartenders Guide where he confirms the origin of the cocktail.

You can also find the cocktail in William J. Tarling’s 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book and in U.K.B.G. 1937 Approved Cocktails.
