Jabberwock

Jabberwock is a cocktail created by Harry Craddock and named after Lewis Carroll’s poem “Jabberwocky” classified in the genre of literary nonsense.

Lewis Carroll was an English writer from the mid-1800s of children’s fiction, notably Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass.

Seems that Harry Craddock admired Lewis Carroll and in his 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book, he leaves a note related to the poem saying  “This will made you gyre and gimble in the wabe until brillig all right, all right.”

Jabberwock cocktail is also published in U.K.B.G. 1937 Approved Cocktails.
