Old Cuban
The Old Cuban cocktail was created in 2001 by Audrey Saunders while she was working at a midtown restaurant called Beacon in New York, USA.
She is best known for her work at Soho’s Pegu Club but this posh Mojito cocktail pre-dates her own Pegu Club which opened doors in August 2005.
This drink pays homage to the Prohibition Era while during the 1920s, American socialites gathered in Cuba to party. Instead of white rum, the cocktail is made with aged rum and called Old Cuban.
