Old Pal

Old Pal is a classic cocktail created in the 1920s by Harry MacElhone at his Harry’s New York Bar in Paris.

Also, the creator of Boulevardier cocktail, Harry MacElhone came up with a crispy and dry version of his Boulevardier. Old Pal is named for William “Sparrow” Robinson, at the time, sports editor of The New York Herald in Paris.

We can find the cocktail in the U.K.B.G. 1937 Approved Cocktails, calling for equal parts of three straight forward ingredients.
