Redbreast was originally produced by Gilbey’s, a Dublin spirits merchant using distillate sourced from John Jameson & Son’s since 1903.

The name ‘Redbreast’ itself refers to the bird, Robin Redbreast, and is attributed to the then Chairman of Gilbey’s, who was an avid bird-fancier.

Redbreast 12 Years Old is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in copper pot stills. Matured in a combination of Bourbon seasoned American Oak and Oloroso Sherry seasoned Spanish oak barrels.
