Russian Spring Punch
Russian Spring Punch was invented in the 1980s by Dick Bradsell in London, perhaps at Zanzibar or Fred’s Cub.
He has created the cocktail for personal friends who wanted to host a party but minimizing the budget to spend on alcohol.
He suggested that as they didn’t have quite enough cash for prestigious amounts of drinks, so request everyone to bring a bottle of champagne.
He stocks the bar pouring in each glass a shot of vodka, a half shot of lemon juice, sugar and cassis. The champagne was the one each brought individually.
Russian Spring Punch name calls Russian from the vodka, spring from the refreshing long drink and punch from the punch formula – 1 part sweet, 2 parts sour, 3 parts spice, 4 parts strong, 5 parts weak.
