The Famous Grouse story began in the grocery business in 1800 and would acquire a license to sell wine and spirits in 1831.

 

But was only in 1896 that the company registered its first blended Scotch, ‘The Grouse’. In 1905, the business expanded and Matthew Gloag & Son was formed and ‘The Grouse’ was renamed The Famous Grouse.

 

The Famous Grouse is made with single malt and single grain which is rested longer for smoothness and filtered at a higher temperature for richness.

 

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden

Aroma: Candied fruits, buttery shortbread, citrus peel

Taste: Dried fruit, soft spices of cinnamon and ginger, and hints of oak
