Whiskey Sour

The Sour is one of the basic recipes to make a drink using spirit, citrus, sugar and water. The major point is the ratio between sugar and citrus usually measured by 2:1. Is supposed to be tasty with balanced citrus.

The Jerry Thomas 1862 The Bartender’s Guide, was the first cocktail book to publish The Sour. It was 5 in fact: Whiskey Sour (with Bourbon), Gin Sour, Brandy Sour, Egg Sour (with Brandy and Curacao) and Santa Cruz Sour (with Rum).
